The JN Phillips Glass Company was founded in 1946 – shortly after the end of World War II. Our first location was in Chelsea, Massachusetts. With travel and gasoline no longer restricted by wartime conditions, Americans’ love affair with the automobile was in full swing. It was a good time to go into the auto glass business.

From the beginning, it was never our dream to become the largest auto glass company in New England but as a result, we did. Our ongoing focus on being the most knowledgeable, best trained, safe windshield replacement experts has earned us a strong reputation and our business has grown tremendously since those first years in Chelsea. We now have more than 40 state-of-the-art locations and a fleet of over 140 mobile service vans.

While we’ve literally replaced tens of thousands of windshields over the years, we have never let success get in the way of constant improvement. As you can imagine, the industry as a whole has gone through many technical advances and it’s not an overstatement to say that windshield replacement has become a science. Maintaining our leadership position as the auto glass experts means constantly keeping up with auto glass innovations and in some cases, as with the special ovens in our vans, driving the innovation ourselves.
