Windshield Repair
In cases of minor breakage, a windshield repair - instead of a full replacement - can often restore the integrity of the glass. The technician injects a resin-based bonding agent into the damaged area. This stops the windshield from cracking further and restores optical clarity. Once a repair is complete, the driver's view is no longer impaired by the damage even though if you look closely there will be some residual scarring where the glass was filled with the bonding agent.
Windshield repairs are less expensive and take less time than full windshield replacements. They are covered by most insurance companies, most of which will waive the deductible if the windshield can simply be repaired instead of replaced.
Safety will never be compromised for cost and convenience, so if there is any question whether a windshield should be repaired or replaced, both the insurance company and JN Phillips Auto Glass will insist on replacement. However, when a windshield can be repaired, you'll save money and you can drive the car almost right away. |
