Ceramic Frit

When glass is manufactured a ceramic paint band is often baked onto edge of the glass. This is known as a ceramic frit or frit band. You will see this on your windshield and on other auto glass parts. It is sometimes solid black and other times the auto glass will have the ceramic paint in a dotted pattern.
